About JCI

JCI is about MAKING A CHANGE! We inspire young people to recognize their responsibility to create a better world and empower them to drive change.

About JCI Hopkins

JCI Hopkins (formerly the Hopkins Jaycees) has been creating positive change since 1950. We have supported the Hopkins community through numerous projects including Cops & Kids shopping, Little Free Libraries, Hopkins Students College Scholarships, and partnerships with other local nonprofits.

Our membership provides adults aged 18-40 a means to solve problems locally and around the world. We each share a passion for making a difference, a drive to be a part of something bigger than ourselves, and a desire for personal growth.

Our members join for a variety of reasons. Some to be more involved with community service. Others to attend the free leadership and personal development trainings. And some just wanted to get to know cool people at our socials. Whatever your reason, we have a spot for you! Join us!

JCI Creed

We believe,
That faith in god gives meaning and purpose to human life,
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations,
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise,
That government should be of laws rather than of men,
That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality,
And that service to humanity is the best work of life.

C. William Brownfield, 1946

Community Development VP - Kim Rausch

Why I joined: I was a 4-H kid and did a lot of community service focused activities growing up. As a young adult I really started to miss volunteering so when a college friend told me about this fun group she'd joined, known as the Jaycees, I had to check it out. Between the community events, individual development opportunities, and socials it didn't take long for me to get hooked!
Fun Fact: I started playing piano at 12 and have played 10 wedding ceremonies over the years!

Our community VP helps build and maintain relationships with other local organizations and finds new ways to make an impact in our community.

International VP - Erin Bryan

Member Since: July 2006
Why I joined: I was new to the Twin Cities area and looking for a group of people my age who were interested in community service. I met with the chapter president and another member, and I immediately connected to the types of projects they did and the social aspect of the organization. It was exactly what I was looking for! I've been a member for more than 13 years and this organization has given me so many skills, including public speaking, project management, budgeting, leadership and more. But it's also given me pride in my community and some of the most amazing friendships! This is an incredible organization to be part of.
Fun Fact: I picked up Magic Johnson from the airport when he came to speak at my college. He's a fun guy!
